RoboKnight — INSAT Chess Coach Robot
1st Prize at IEEE TSYP 12 against 20 universities, and a first-author IEEE SMC 2025 paper presented in Vienna.
Led a team to develop the INSAT Chess Coach Robot, an interactive robotic chess system built for the TSYP contest. It integrates computer vision, a robotic arm, and an adaptive chess engine into a single learning experience: physical piece manipulation, skill-matched gameplay, real-time feedback and educational modes, all on standard chess equipment. The system bridges digital and physical chess learning.
In plain terms
A robot arm that sees a real chessboard through a camera, decides a move, and physically picks up and moves the piece — adjusting its difficulty to the person playing.
